A Hybrid working model

Now offices are fully open we have embraced a hybrid working model, which allows our employees to split their time between the office and other locations, something we hope will provide everyone much more flexibility to their working week. The expectation is that working life at Hogarth will involve working from the office for about 50% of the time for most people. What does a Financial Controller do at Hogarth?

We are looking for a bright, energetic talent who can partner with group senior management and finance teams to significantly enhance the quality of our accounting, reporting, our compliance and company secretarial functions and our treasury, tax and working capital management processes in Turkey. Turkey group consists of 2 legal entities and 8 internal reporting units. This is a hands-on role managing the day to day finance function.

The role offers significant scope for personal and career development either within HWW or WPP.

  • Driving efficiency and quality improvements in the accounting group
  • Work closely with Global Finance / Global Controllership group on local and global HWW initiatives in respect of compliance, accounting processes and systems, control environment, finance talent development
  • Manage month end close for the Turkish reporting units ensuring timely and accurate reporting in line with WPP requirements
  • Prepare monthly management information for discussion at management meetings including actual to forecast analysis, variance analysis and trends
  • Manage internal / external / SOX audit processes and ensure effectiveness of SOX compliance regimes
  • Review aged debt and creditor reports and manage the timely collection of payments.
  • Manage cash and working capital position including cash forecasting and foreign currency exposure
  • Manage core balance sheet reporting including detailed monthly review of all balance sheets to ensure accuracy
  • Ensure SOX compliance across all controls, and oversee SOX audits
  • Year-round liaison with auditors, accountants and tax advisers to manage the timely finalisation of accounts and filings as appropriate
  • Manage all company secretarial activities for the UK entities
  • Responsible for managing and developing team of 23, including three direct reports (Deputy UK FC, Senior Credit Controller and Revenue Accountant)

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Strong academics, intellect
  • Strong transactional accounting skills
  • Good audit experience, but operationally focussed
  • Exposure to and an effective understanding of principles of Sarbanes Oxley
  • Exposure to WPP reporting practices and tools an advantage
  • Good communicator, both oral and written
  • Experience leading and managing a large team
