Job Description

The Automotive Systems Division Design Quality Engineering team is looking for a regional electrical/mechanical Validation Engineer to manage OEM customer communications and the development and execution of validation testing for our electronic products. You will work closely together with hardware, electrical, software and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure the highest product quality.

Tasks include:

• Establish 1-on-1 relationship with OEM customers (direct communication) to understand customer requirements and

expectations concerning validation.

• Negotiate test plans with customer and resolve clarifications or issues.
• Technical knowledge to develop and drive approval of specialized validation plans for new components or other

continuing engineering changes.

• Manage in-region suppliers to develop validation plans, support testing and test report review/approval for customer

submission.

• Develop in-region validation capabilities.
• Audit in-region labs or suppliers as required.
• Provide subject matter expertise to the design teams as it relates to our automotive customers validation requirements.
• Initiate and implement improvement projects to add capabilities, improve quality or reduce costs of testing and related

departmental processes.

• Travel up to 10%.

Skill Sets:

• Must be fluent in English.
• Experience – 5+ years of electrical, mechanical, climatic and reliability testing experience.
• Strong level of product testing experience including the operation of a wide variety of mechanical and electrical test equipment

is required.

• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and excellent interpersonal skills are required.
• Must have a flexible style that accommodates working on multiple projects in collaboration with members of various

organizations and project teams.

• Must be a self-starter who performs well under limited guidance; is detail-oriented and has a strong commitment to project

deadlines.

• Familiarity with LabView/TestStand or other test software development experience preferred.
• Audio experience preferred.
• Automotive experience is preferred.
• Lean/5S experience preferred.
