SUMMARY: The Design Engineer is in charge of the mechanical and automation design of our solutions, following the booking of an order. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES: • Upon booking of an order, open and review customer specification as well as support Application team to build proposed quotation. • Define the solution based on database and experience • Build 3D concept with 2D drawing of the solution • Design overall layout of the station as per customer inputs. • Adapt 3D concept following Concept Approval review by customer/ (DAP) • Develop detailed 3D CAD modelling and 2D detailed drawings. • Provide required detailed drawings for manufacturing • Design the pneumatic / PLC automation and support to Control Design team • Build required BOM (internal and external parts) on Windchill • Review of technical capabilities of the vendor critical to the project along with Design Manager. • Support assembly and testing phase with Manufacturing team • Following sign off, eventually update / correct 3D and detail drawings • Build documentation on Windchill PLM • Responsible to close Design Change Request • Keep up to date documentation post installation and develop manuals • Previous experience in Machine Building, Special Purpose Machine SPM preferable • Knowledge Pneumatic logics (FESTO/SMC Product range knowledge) KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATOR: • Hours spent on concept drawing and detail design • Number of non-conformance at assembly stage for each system being built • FTR based on DCR project wise. • On Time Delivery, ECN as per KPI REQUIREMENTS: Minimum: • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in Mechanical/Industrial environment • Bachelor level in mechanical engineering • Sound Knowledge in Product design and proactive approach in design for Special Purpose Solutions. • Good Hands on Experience in CAD Software Creo and 3D modelling and 2D experience required. • Knowledge of pneumatic/control automation preferable. • Good communication skills (Written and Verbal). Additional capabilities: • Good knowledge of ergonomics in industrial environment is preferable • AutoCAD knowledge PERSONAL QUALITIES: • Ability to work in a project oriented team, under lead-time pressure • Good team player and good individual contributor. • Communication skill
