The Role

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at SafetyCulture you’ll be tasked with driving our reliability, availability, and performance which are critical to the ongoing success of our platform. SafetyCulture is in a key growth phase and we need SREs who can build out our observability platform, provide capabilities that enhance our ability to scale, maintain a performant and stable environment, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. You’ll also be educating and driving SRE principles and practices throughout our engineering community.

How you will spend your time

  • Working with Product Teams on implementing SRE practices (e.g Service Levels)
  • Diagnosing and mitigating production environment issues
  • Managing observability instrumentation, platform configuration and dashboarding (OTel/Grafana experience preferred)
  • Writing and providing feedback on architecture designs
  • Implementing service changes to improve performance and scalability
  • Providing and explaining key metrics to our engineering leadership team, and diagnosing recurring issues across multiple incidents that need prioritising

What you'll need

  • A deep understanding of SRE fundamentals, including Service Levels and Incident Management
  • Experience in Observability, the three pillars and good monitoring and alerting practices
  • Strong background in back end, front end or mobile application architecture
  • Proficiency in relevant languages and frameworks (Go and JavaScript/TypeScript/Node.js)
  • A good understanding of performance principles and how to scale systems under load
  • Able to demonstrate SafetyCulture values (Think Customer, Open Honest Always, Better as a Team, Be Bold Bring Action)
