Job Summary:
The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures is seeking an organized, enthusiastic intern to assist the Curatorial team. The intern will make a critical contribution in research and organization in support of the museum’s upcoming temporary exhibition Director’s Inspiration: Bong Joon Ho. Scheduled to open in Spring 2025, the gallery exhibition will focus on the filmography and cinematic influences of the director—shared through historical posters, personal artifacts, and materials from the director’s personal collection.
Under the guidance of an experienced curatorial staff, the intern will gain in-depth experience in preparation and planning for an exhibition that explores a lesser-known, international film history for a wide audience. The ideal candidate will be a rigorous researcher and strong writer, able to create bibliographies and filmographies, organize image files, and draft and edit research summaries. Previous museum experience is not necessary for this internship.
This is a limited term internship position beginning in June 2024 through August 2024. The hourly wage for this role is $16.78.
