About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our EMEA team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the company, including financial reporting, month end closing, BS reconciliation, posting of accounting Journal entries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work under pressure.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Daily accounting operational tasks:
  • Recording journal entries
  • Participate in oversight of Accounts Payable for Germany, Poland, and Bulgaria
  • Reviewing open trade accounts receivables for collections from clients
  • Recording monthly payroll journal entries for Germany, Poland, and Bulgaria
  • Serve as back-up for Accounts Payable processing and client invoicing
  • Month end closing:
  • Posting of accounting journals entries according to LOCAL GAAP and US GAAP
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure the accuracy of the general ledger, investigating variances and discrepancies in the general ledger
  • Reconcile bank accounts for Germany, Poland, and Bulgaria
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Assist in the analysis of monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards
  • Responsible for the balance sheet analysis at entity level, understanding the periodic variances
  • Assist with comparison of actual financial results to prior periods and budget scenarios
  • Audit Support:
  • Assist with annual audits by external auditors, providing necessary documentation and support to ensure a smooth audit process
  • Collaboration with the Third Party Service Providers:
  • Assist in managing relationships with third party accounting and tax services providers for compliance, execution and associated local filings
  • Process Documentation:
  • Assist in developing accounting and compliance related policies and procedures for Germany, Poland, and Bulgaria
  • Internal Controls:
  • Assist in developing and implementing internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the accounting function, implementing changes as needed to enhance productivity and accuracy
  • Ad Hoc Projects:
  • Complete “ad hoc” accounting projects and/or other projects at the discretion of manager

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles
  • Experience with local GAAP and reporting requirements in one or more of the following countries: Germany, Poland, and Bulgaria
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles 
  • Proficiency in accounting software (knowledge in NETSUITE will be an advantage)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of EXCEL
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
