GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT: Summarize the nature and level of work performed.

The RISE (Radiology Inclusion & Systemic Equity) Center at Mass General Brigham (MGB) Radiology seeks to advance equity, inclusion, and social justice by: (1) expanding our national presence and expertise in equity and inclusion; (2) working on novel clinical, education, research, and outreach programs; (3) fostering new and existing collaborations to bridge health disparities; and (4) developing a transdisciplinary model to catalyze the implementation of MGB United Against Racism vision in Radiology. We are on a mission to create a system-wide Radiology environment across the MGB system that improves the health and well-being of all patients through research, education, and precision public health.

The RISE Center is looking for a Clinical Research Program/Project Manager to lead these critical efforts. Working under the direction of the RISE Center’s Executive Director and Administrative Director, the Program/Project Manager will have a broad portfolio of responsibilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic program management: Coordinating all RISE Center initiatives and projects, building relationships with collaborating organizations and diverse stakeholders, and assisting with financial management in collaboration with grants administration and development. In collaboration with RISE Center leadership, the Program/Project Manager will develop strategic direction, create project plans, facilitate workgroups, and draft deliverables. The Program/Project Manager will manage one or more junior staff in the Center. This role will also serve as a resource to leadership in preparing for events, leadership meetings, and collaborative activities in all areas of communication and strategy.

The position requires strong project management and interpersonal skills; an established ability to multitask; a demonstrated passion and commitment to work actively to foster an inclusive health environment by developing novel programs in equity, diversity, and community health.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Indicate key areas of responsibility, major job duties, special projects and key objectives for this position. These items should be evaluated throughout the year and included in the written annual evaluation.

  • Provides critical input to the overarching vision for the RISE Center’s research, clinical, and advocacy initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clinicians and researchers across MGB Radiology, patients, caregivers, and community stakeholders.
  • Maintain regular communication with a diverse team.
  • Supervise clinical research coordinators conducting various research projects.
  • Organize and co-lead collaborative meetings of RISE Center leadership, project teams, Community Advisory Board, and other partners / collaborators.
  • Assist in producing progress reports on the ongoing grants and projects to be shared with the RISE team, collaborators and institutional leadership.
  • In collaboration with Development and Grant Management, provide financial oversight and budgetary management.
  • Provide oversight of web development and social media campaigns.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: (MUST be realistic, neither overstated nor understated, and related to the essential functions of the job.)

The Program/Project Manager position requires the ability to be self-directing, professional, organized, and the ability to take initiative to lead a diverse team through multiple ongoing projects.

  • Minimum of 5 years of research experience.
  • BS/BA required; MA/MS/MPH preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities at once to effectively meet multiple and variable deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience in managing junior level staff and excellent interpersonal/communication skills with people from multiple levels and disciplines
  • Aptitude to develop and maintain interdisciplinary collaborations
  • Team-focused and collaborative work style with a high level of professionalism

SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: (MUST be realistic, measurable, objective, and related to the essential functions of the job.)

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to interact with people from various cultural and language backgrounds.
  • Proficient in use of computers with working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. etc.).
  • Familiarity with clinical research protocols and procedures (e.g., IRB requirements and submissions, grant management and reporting requirements, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Statistical software (e.g., SAS, STATA, R) is preferred. 
  • Demonstrates analytical skills to problem solve effectively
  • Demonstrated commitment to health equity for underserved populations
  • Strong time management, project organizational, and planning skills.
  • Knowledge of/interest in radiology and/or health equity preferred but not required
  • Proficient with social media platforms (e.g., Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Linked In)
