HEICO is currently recruiting an Assistant Controller for its Flight Support Group (“FSG”) based in Hollywood, Florida. This position reports directly to the Group Controller for the Flight Support Group. In this position, the Assistant Controller will likely:

  • Assist with the monthly consolidation of the Flight Support Group, including the preparation and recording of inter-company sales, profit, and balance sheet eliminations. Will also assist with the monthly preparation of the statement of cash flows as well as various supporting documentation and analysis. 
  • Primary liaison between our subsidiaries and our banks to assist in various treasury related administrator functions.
  • Various other projects geared toward supporting our FSG Finance Team including the testing or adherence to certain corporate level Sox Controls such as compliance with our A/R reserve policy, credit & collections, inventory valuation and reserve policies, revenue recognition, and various other policies or procedures.
  • Provide support for our consolidation reporting (Cognos) and fixed asset software (FAS) including assistance in our current transition project to a new consolidation and budgeting software package (Planning & Analytics).
  • Review certain FSG subsidiary financial statements, journal entries, and contracts to insure all are presented and accounted for in accordance with GAAP and HEICO accounting policies.
  • Preparation of opening balance sheets of recent acquisitions as well as subsequent integration activities.
  • Perform technical accounting research as necessary to provide accounting guidance to our subsidiaries or assist in the implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Travel to FSG subsidiaries to conduct financial operations reviews and inventory observations.
  • Conduct financial analysis and prepare supporting schedules for internal and external (SEC) reporting.
  • Help support the annual FSG budgeting process.
  • Perform/assist with other duties and special projects including other Corporate Finance initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting. CPA is required. 
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in financial accounting (industry or industry/public mix).
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to clearly express an opinion or interpretation of various analysis, schedules or statement and results.
  • Strong work ethic (willingness to work hard and long hours, when needed).
  • Strong Excel skills are a must. General working knowledge of ERP reporting packages are a plus. 
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with subsidiary controllers and employees of all levels, including senior management.
  • Highly responsive to customer requirements, with a high attention for detail and accuracy.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be flexible and able to multi-task in a time-sensitive environment.
