About the role

Roku Product Quality is seeking a Test Engineering Manager to ensure test coverage and capability at Roku suppliers. This role will work with Contract Manufacturers (CMs), Joint Development Manufacturers (JDMs), and Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) globally, on both the new product introduction (NPI) process and mass production (MP). 

As a key individual contributor (IC) in the Product Quality team, the Test Engineering Manager will work with Hardware Engineering, Supplier Quality, Sourcing, and Program Management to define and implement product test equipment, test programs, gage capability analyses, process capability studies, and drive yield improvement at Roku suppliers. You will also perform and/or coordinate test capability assessments of new suppliers.

The Test Engineering Manager will work with Roku Players, Televisions, Audio, and IoT products.

What you’ll be doing

  • Drive the test equipment selection process for new test capabilities at suppliers
  • Implement new test equipment into production at Roku suppliers
  • Working with HW Engineering and Suppliers, develop production test programs and procedures
  • Working with suppliers, perform Measurement System Analysis / Gage Capability (GR&R) studies on new manufacturing lines and measurement equipment
  • Analyze pre-production and production test data for process capability (Cpk)
  • Work with suppliers, use production test data to drive continuous yield improvements
  • Assess new and current supplier's test processes, equipment, and data analysis capabilities and drive improvement
  • Qualify new test equipment and process as part of the supplier product part approval process (PPAP)
  • Work with Roku's Global Suppliers for Players, Televisions, Audio, and IoT products
  • Drive the use of statistical tools and methods within supplier facilities including statistical process control, capability analysis, gage repeatability & reproducibility, and design of experiments

We’re excited if you have

  • A BS (or higher) degree in Electrical or other applicable engineering discipline
  • 5+ years experience as a test engineer working with an international supply base
  • Experience with the testing of PCBAs, Televisions, Streaming Wifi devices, Audio/Speaker products, and/or IoT devices including cameras, lighting, security systems, etc.
  • 5+ years experience working with Contract Manufacturers (CMs), Joint Development Manufacturers (JDMs), and Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs)
  • Six-sigma black belt certification
  • Statistical analysis knowledge in statistical process control, capability analysis, gage repeatability & reproducibility, and design of experiments using Minitab or similar tools
  • In-depth manufacturing test processes and equipment knowledge of printed circuit board assemblies and electronic modules
  • Experience with environmental requirements including RoHS, WEEE, REACH, TCLP, TPCH, TSCA, and Prop-65
  • Industry experience in the Consumer Electronics, Personal Computing, and/or IOT
  • Experience with Atlassian Confluence and JIRA
  • Ability and desire to travel domestically and internationally 25 - 50%
  • A strong sense of integrity and dedication to ethical business practices
  • Capable of driving in depth technical discussions on various technologies and trends in the electronics industry
  • Highly collaborative by nature; transparent and open-minded
  • Anticipative and forward thinking
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with a strong sense of professionalism
