The ICCT is seeking a highly motivated and committed intern for our Beijing office. The selected candidate will engage in analyzing and recommending policies aimed at avoiding, reducing, and eliminating greenhouse gases, air pollution, and water pollution from freight shipping. The focus will primarily be on the intermodal shipping structure and policies related to ports in Southern China. 

You Will: 

  • Conduct literature reviews and data collection, with a focus on major ports in Southern China
  • Conduct literature review and collect data on best practices and experiences learned globally
  • Perform and support quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Assist in report writing and transportation
  • Provide ad-hoc support to various freight-related topics

You Have: 

  • Currently enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year of undergraduate studies or the 1st year of graduate studies in automobile engineering, environmental sciences, or related disciplines
  • Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of intermodal shipping, freight, or port operations, and experience in relevant projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 
  • Excellent research, analytical, and quantitative skills, along with strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese
  • Availability to work 3-5 days per week, ideally for at least 30 hours per week, with a duration of 6-12 months

Our Benefits 

The internship will be based in the ICCT Beijing office and will have a duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extending to 12 months. ICCT will provide a laptop and other office equipment as needed. We are offering a salary of CNY ¥4,000 a month (30 hours a week), or an amount proportional to the workload allowed by your university.
