Based in Tempe, Arizona, you’ll have the opportunity to work on exciting and engaging transportation projects in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, throughout the Southwest, and nationwide. Our transportation projects include traditional design-bid-build projects as well as alternative delivery such as Design-Build (DB), Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC), Construction Manager At Risk (CMAR), and Public-Private-Partnership (P3) projects. Working with our talented team, you’ll work to solve problems and challenges in a team environment where everyone is valued. As Roadway Design Engineer, you will lead highway/roadway design projects of various sizes and complexity, collaborate with teams of transportation engineers and CADD staff, support/mentor junior engineers, support strategic growth initiatives, and apply your design knowledge to solve complex problems. Here's What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer License (PE)
  • At least 8 years’ related experience in transportation work with an emphasis on roadway, highway and geometrics final design and/or Maintenance of Traffic and Traffic Control final design
  • Ability to demonstrate project leadership experience
  • Strong OpenRoads Designer, InRoads, MicroStation background
  • Previous Department of Transportation (DOT), County or Municipal experience
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, time management skills
  • Strong communication skills

Ideally, You’ll Also Have: 

  • Experience on large, multidisciplinary highway design projects
  • Project management and leadership experience as an engineer and a project manager in the transportation design field
  • Strong client facing skills delivering design projects and can bring a team together
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
