Role Summary/Purpose:

The VP, Solution Architect is responsible for the technical stewardship of multiple software development projects or programs. This experienced architect possesses the skills to take prompt decisions, lead a team of developers, manage deadlines and other technical problems. The Solution Architect must have a balanced mix of technical and business skills and often works with enterprise architects for strategic direction.

The VP, Solution Architect needs significant people and process skills, with ability to communicate complex ideas and issues in simple terms to project teams, external clients, and often senior management. They also need to deeply understand the business processes in order to create a cohesive vision of the products and services.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Build and integrate information and computer systems that meet specific needs, typically involving integration of the software and hardware that best meets the purpose defined by an internal or external client.
  • Get involved in a project early, when analysts start developing requirements, and then remain involved till the end.
  • Examine the current systems architecture, and work with business and technical staff to recommend solutions that result in more effective systems.
  • Mentor other solution architects
  • Organize the development effort and often provide motivation and guidance to the entire development team during the SDLC. The VP, Solution Architect ensures the execution of the vision by providing direction to the designers and developers on how to build the prescribed solution.
  • Select the most appropriate technology for a problem, and balance architectural concerns of the project with the business considerations of the enterprise.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
  • Be the Lead Solution Architect in business initiatives, responsible for defining:
  • How technology can be used to solve a given business problem?
  • Which framework, platform, or tech-stack that can be used to create a solution? Which patterns, methods and tools will be most effective and productive?
  • How the application will look and feel, what the components will be, and how they interact with each other?
  • How things will scale for the future and how they will be maintained?
  • Figuring out the advantages and risks in third-party frameworks/platforms?
  • Oversee the programming, integration, and testing of software systems and associated devices.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum 9 years of experience in multiple IT areas OR, in lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED 11 years of application development experience
  • Minimum of 9 years of full stack development using Spring, other JEE technologies, API, microservices and UI technologies and frameworks
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in application architecture and design, with a strong hold on associated patterns, processes and tools.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience is managing a solution architecture function
  • Experience in architecting Digital BNPL Acquisition Platform with Micro Front End Architectures.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong working knowledge of fintech Industry as it relates to consumer financing
  • Deep experience in service-oriented architecture
  • Deep Agile expertise
  • Critical thinking and creativity
  • Experience building and deploying application on Cloud platforms
  • Working knowledge of API gateways
  • Expertise in mobile solutions including native and mobile web
  • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks like Zachman or TOGAF
  • Implementation knowledge of Fraud and credit strategy tools in Enterprise Digital Applications.

Grade/Level: 12

The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
