Job Title: Design Intern

Reports to: VP, Deckers Lab

Location: Goleta, CA (On-site)

The Role

Enthusiastic Industrial Design major that will provide support to design, engineering, prototyping and validation activities for all footwear and apparel brands as part of the Deckers Innovation team. The Design Intern will be a member of a cross-functional design team at Deckers that will work closely with many different stakeholders including 3D Product Development, Materials Sourcing, Product Development, and Deckers Brands (UGG®, HOKA ONE ONE®, Teva®, Sanuk® and Koolaburra®).

Your Impact

The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to:

Reimagine design elements of key franchise styles across Deckers Brands Support the 3D Product Development Team: 3D design, application of color and rendering images Contribute to creative tools for the innovation department: photos, video, graphic design Contribute to R&D activities including sampling, fit/wear testing and idea validation

  • Ability to think three-dimensionally and an understanding of proportions and form
  • Understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA)
  • Aptitude for creative problem solving
  • Passionate, self-motivated and willing to go the extra mile to complete the task
  • Must be able to work in an extremely creative, fast paced team environment and possess excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Positive and motivated

We’d love to hear from people with

  • Experience with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Experience with 3D CAD software a plus (Solidworks,Rhino)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Passion for consumer goods

$20/hr

The salary range posted reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in our Goleta, CA location. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
