Nordson MEDICAL , a global leader in the medical device industry, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team in Galway, Ireland as a Product Development Engineer. Summary of the role

The Product Development Engineer will support product development of medical devices from feasibility through to market introduction on a contract basis for our customers. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who is excited by the prospect of supporting projects in a dynamic environment to support business growth.

Role and Responsibilities

The Product Development Engineer will be a member of the Product Development team working on a variety of projects and assignments.

Projects and Assignments to include:

  • Aid in the development of fixtures and other processing aids used to manufacture medical devices
  • Initiate and release documentation to support projects
  • Aid in the design and development of various medical device technologies
  • Perform and document required product testing
  • Provide overall support for a variety of design and development tasks
  • Assist with the investigation and problem solving of critical product/process problems
  • Perform all other essential duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Biotechnology programs.
  • 3-5 years experience in medical device or similar industry.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (required)
  • Motivation to successfully complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Strong hands-on technical ability
  • Ability to prepare standard reports/documentation and to communicate results
  • Ability to organise, analyse and draw conclusions from the test data
  • Ability to create engineering documentation changes and write justifications for changes
