As our Sustainability Performance Engineer, you will be a key player in contributing to and supporting the implementation of our “next generation” sustainability strategy.

You will support our Europe and Asia business facilities and plants to achieve their Green House Gas (GHG) targets. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities, building standards, supporting execution, and reporting to achieve Operational GHG Emissions Goals. Part of your role will also be to research the new and latest technology and follow up on regulatory monitoring as well as update your colleagues and other teams on the latest regulatory changes, etc. You will be responsible to drive the optimization of existing installations to reduce energy usage and as a project lead, track timelines, and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

GHG Emissions company target:

  • Support communication and awareness within our locations.
  • Conduct plant assessments.
  • Incorporate process for CAPEX deployment.
  • Build out appropriate support in definition, planning and execution.
  • Track and report on progress and achievements.
  • Calculate savings based on CO² reduction.

Project execution:

  • Support plants to build their sustainability CAPEX plan.
  • Set standards and processes to deploy standard solutions regarding environmental impact procedures across our facilities.
  • Track and report on progress and achievements.
  • Control costs in line with OPEX + CAPEX budgets.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities.

Other tasks:

  • Participate in the research and development of innovative and sustainable solutions (such as life cycle analysis and environmental performance) in collaboration with industrial peers, research institutes and your network.
  • You will collaborate across all departments and make proposals of sustainable solutions in the tender, design and set-up phases of our projects.
  • Carbon footprint calculations using our systems.
  • Supporting our projects in obtaining environmental certifications.

Profile:

  • You have a Master's degree in Engineering sciences or Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in engineering and project management (mechanical, manufacturing or construction).
  • Energy management or manufacturing sustainability management will be a plus and having industry certifications would be highly valuable.
  • Excellent Project Management & Change Management skills are a must as well as being organized and having an eye for detail.
  • Have a technical understanding and be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for sustainability topics.
  • Leadership & influencing skills are key for this role.
  • You have great communication skills.
  • You are a team player.
  • You have a hands-on, can-do mentality.
  • You are fluent in English (both oral and written)
  • Other languages like French, German and/or other languages are a true plus.

Other Skills:

  • You have experience with environmental impact indicators and life cycle analysis.
  • Knowledge and experience in environmental certification are a plus.
  • Energy management and/or Air compressor, HPAC, will be an added value.
  • Good understanding of company policy/ processes & procedures, company’s goals & activities, handling of time and budgetary constraints
