Then respond now: we are looking for a Development Assistant Electrical for the Equipment Prototyping team of the Mechatronics Projects department at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven!

Within ASML the sector Development & Engineering is responsible for the specification and the design of the ASML products. The Mechatronics Projects department within Mechatronics & Measurement Systems Cluster is responsible for specification, design, integration and qualification of the mechatronics sub-systems and components which are fitted into ASML end products. The main focus is on nanometer-accuracy positioning of high-speed components for transporting/positioning of wafers and reticles and adjustments of optical elements. Mechanical and electrical design, control & dynamics engineering, thermal engineering and prototyping are part of this department’s main competences.

Role and responsibilities

You will join a multidisciplinary team of development assistants (technical assistants) who support the development and testing of prototypes, test setups and functional models in the mechatronics domain in an innovative development & engineering environment. As a Development Assistant Electrical, you create these prototypes, test setups and functional models in close contact with our (internal) customer.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Discussing new requests with (y)our customer and identifying solution scenarios
  • Assisting Development: design, create and assemble prototypes, test setups and functional models in the electrical domain
  • Create electrical cabinets incl. cabling
  • Provide integration & test support
  • Applying electrical safety standards
  • Delivering after care to (y)our creations.
  • Contributing to electrical design reviews

In addition you:

  • Ensure pro-active communication with all stakeholders regarding progress
  • Collaborate with your team members
  • Stimulate active knowledge sharing within the team
  • Ensure that applicable regulations and standards are met

Education and experience

To be successful in this role you have the following skills/knowledge:

  • Secondary vocational education or Higher professional education (MBO or Associate Degree, level 4-5) in the electrical domain (or similar obtained through experience)
  • Several years of work experience in a similar position or working environment
  • Able to work with technical product documentation or just a sketch
  • Experience with electrical assembly work incl. applicable standards
  • Knowledge of electrical components and their field of application
  • Experience with PLC/programming applications (or willing to learn this)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications but also with competence-specific tools like Visio (or willing to learn this)
  • Are pro-active, pragmatic and creative in your search for solutions
  • Can act in a dynamic and challenging development & engineering environment
  • Like to work in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Are eager to learn
  • Have good communication skills
  • Are a team player
  • Willing to take an extra step where necessary
  • Able to work in a cleanroom
  • Master the Dutch and English language in word and writing.

Knowledge of/affinity with adjacent competencies (software & mechanics) is seen as a plus.
