The new combined national footprint will serve more than 250,000 properties, facilitate approximately 2.5 million repair and maintenance orders, and complete nearly 20,000 renovation and turn projects per year. Lessen has quickly evolved from exciting startup to valued partner, delivering scalable and turnkey property services to our clients.

The Manager of Content Marketing is responsible for the growing content program at Lessen. This position is a key role within the marketing team, helping with digital, social, and print presence, creating, managing, monitoring, and measuring content across the website, the blog, external newsletters, white papers, webinars, video, research reports, infographics, case studies, ads, social media channels, collateral, and more. Recognized as a subject matter expert in the real estate facility maintenance industry, the content marketing manager will understand Lessen’s residential and commercial customers and perspectives, building relationships with sales, product, and affiliate relations, getting to the core of the questions customers are asking, the challenges they are facing, and developing creative responses.

What You'll Do:

  • Planning: Work closely with residential and commercial marketing leaders to create and maintain an up-to-date message map for both residential and commercial markets that defines our standards for key messages, tag lines, keywords, phrasing, and tone of voice. Keep our message maps up to date as new products and services are introduced. 
  • Content: Define and support Lessen’s content calendar. Develop content both personally, and by managing internal/external resources to support the website, the blog, landing pages, whitepapers, e-books, emails, newsletters, ads, and more. 
  • Team: Manage a small team of internal and external writers, and collaborate as needed with external agencies. Support the marketing team in a matrixed environment to execute marketing programs that deliver results tracking to the business objectives of Lessen. 
  • Campaigns: Work with our demand generation staff to provide compelling content to support campaigns across social, email, and leveraging assets like blog content, case studies, and white papers. 
  • Press: Collaborate with our public relations team; work toward creative placement and support story ideas as they fit into larger business/brand strategy; integrate press mentions into content marketing execution. Hunt for thought leadership opportunities and engagements. 
  • Social media: Support our growing social media program and coordinate with internal and external teams to provide content that supports our social media calendar. 
  • Sales support: Work with internal/external resources to support client sales, account management, account change management, and vendor teams, providing a variety of content for sales presentations, new account onboarding, etc. 
  • SEO: Collaborate with internal / external teams to define digital keyword strategies, execute technical back-end SEO, develop SEO ready content for our web properties, and support other SEO optimization techniques such as back-link generation. Track SEO performance improvements and deliver monthly reports. 
  • Events: Support marketing events by developing and delivering content for conferences, trade shows, sponsorships, hosted events, webinars, podcasts, and more. 
  • Distribution: Understand multi-channel marketing to connect, drive, promote, and measure content across different channels, mediums, and audiences. 
  • Measurement: Measure the impact of Lessen’s content marketing programs. Use our marketing automation platform, HubSpot, Google Analytics, and other dashboarding tools to oversee content marketing initiatives and deliver reports showing SEO progress, gated and ungated content conversions, etc. Show ROI through creative reporting and analysis on a regular basis. 
  • Content best practices: Maintain our style and brand guides to ensure consistency, accuracy, relevance, and quality across all content coming out of the marketing team. 
  • Foster a positive team environment 
  • Ensure confidentiality of internal and external data 
  • Perform ad-hoc projects and other duties as assigned 

Role Specific Skills:

  • Highly proficient in using MS Office applications. 
  • Knowledgeable in the appropriate use of editing tools such as Grammarly, and AI tools such as ChatGPT 
  • Web skills: Proficient using CMS’s such as Webflow or WordPress to implement new written pages that support standard page elements 
  • Able to develop email copy and sequences using Hubspot or equivalent 
  • Using Google Analytics to set up and maintain dashboards to monitor digital traffic, conversions 
  • Use of SEO tools such as SEMRush to analyze keywords and optimize content 

You Should Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, writing, or equivalent 
  • 10 or more years of professional copywriting, editing, and digital marketing experience 
  • Subject matter expertise related to real estate property/facility management or maintenance
