What’s the role? 

At Bloomberg Finance we are committed to providing world-class support to our business partners by providing insight on business performance, financial oversight and thought leadership. 

The Treasury Accounting team within the Corporate Accounting group of Bloomberg’s Chief Accounting Office is seeking an experience accountant to join the team for a contract assignment. 

We’ll trust you to: 

• Take on responsibility for oversight of foreign currency related matters of a multi-billion dollar company 
• Perform monthly analysis on gain/loss from the foreign currency transactions and hedging activities 
• Conduct monitoring foreign currency re-measurement and translation process 
• Perform periodic review of foreign currency and hedge related process controls 
• Complete technical accounting research of US GAAP and documentation of conclusions focused on Treasury related transactions 
• Provide accounting guidance to Treasury team on foreign currency and hedge related matters 
• Support external reporting team as a Subject Matter Expert for the quarterly/ annual financial statements 
• Review and prepare journal entries, reconciliations and analyses of the account balances/ activities 
• Oversee select balance sheet accounts 
• Support the external auditors during the year-end audit 
• Collaborate with departments across Finance including Treasury, Consolidation and CFO teams
• Contribute to ad-hoc accounting initiatives and projects 

You’ll need to have: 

• A minimum of 4 years’ accounting experience 
• Strong accounting foundation including in US GAAP 
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment 
• Demonstrates flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks for self and for team 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• We’d love to see: 
• A CPA 
• Experience in both public and private accounting 
• Experience in Treasury Accounting 
• Experience working with multi-currency accounting platforms such as SAP and running reports
