The Department of Pathology at St. Jude is seeking a highly motivated Sr Data Analyst to join our team. This is an exciting and challenging full-time position that will provide data analysis and visualization to the Department of Pathology. As a Sr Data Analyst specializing in clinical laboratory data, you will play a crucial role in extracting actionable insights from complex datasets, designing visually compelling dashboards and reports, and collaborating closely with our interdisciplinary team to drive data-driven decision-making and contribute to advancing patient care.

Department Overview

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop reports and visualizations for operational oversight
  • Create and deploy visually compelling analytic dashboards for monitoring key performance indicators using tools such as Epic, PowerBI, Tableau
  • Conduct ad hoc data requests
  • Utilized Epic Cogito and Caboodle to extract, transform, and analyze data to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for improving patient care
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders on analytical projects
  • Proactively resolve issues related to system reporting needs and performance monitors
  • Ensure accurate and reliable data retrieval that meets the needs of the user
  • Interpret data extraction to determine reporting validity
  • Write, validate, and optimize SQL queries

Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, information science, business, or related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum experience: Four (4) years of IT experience in the design of databases and ETL processes preferably in comparable industry.
  • Experience in designing and maintaining data management systems, data warehouses, and data source analysis.
  • Significant experience in programming querying languages.
  • Experience with enterprise reporting tools for development of reports as applicable.
  • Experience creating dashboards using data visualization tools (e.g. PBI, Tableau, Qlik, and data warehousing applications) as applicable experience with source control systems (e.g., Epic, Workday) preferred.
  • Experience in business stakeholder engagement and management.
  • Proven performance in earlier role/comparable role.

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $86,320 - $154,960 per year for the role of Senior Data Analyst-Pathology Informatics.
