Middle River Aerostructure Systems is a world-leading manufacturer of thrust reversers (the braking system on a jet engine), engine nacelle components and specialized aerostructures. It supplies and supports these products for engine makers, airplane manufacturers and aircraft operators. Located on Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay near Baltimore, MRAS has a 1.7-million sq. ft. facility situated on 180 acres – where the company and its predecessors have designed, built and equipped civil and military aircraft for over 90 years. In 2019, MRAS was acquired by ST Engineering North America, the U.S. affiliate of Singapore-based ST Engineering – becoming a part of its global network of aerospace facilities and offices. Role Summary/Purpose
The Material & Process (M&P) Engineer serves as the Materials & Process Engineering focal for documentation review, coordination, and management. This includes working with the various internal functional groups (Engineering team, Sourcing/Procurement team, Quality Organization) to support various levels of engineering reviews and documentation changes/updates. The M&P Engineer will work in the Materials and Processing Engineering team, on site at Middle River, supporting document management through MRAS’ internal document management system(s). The engineer will serve as the focal for coordinating and managing material and process documentation (specifications, technical publications, and other documents) and supporting engineering change documentation reviews for engineering drawing packages under the guidance of experienced engineers. The candidate will have a strong foundation in the Microsoft Office suite of applications, specifically Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. The engineer demonstrates an ability to work with limited to some supervision, and in collaboration with others, effectively interfacing and integrating their activities within the engineering organization. An ability to establish and manage multiple projects within time constraints is required. The candidate is also responsible for timely identification and communication of project obstacles to engineering technical leads.
