The opportunity

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a student employee to fill the role of Visitor Services Representative at the Concord Audubon. The Audubon's goal is to protect New Hampshire’s natural environment for wildlife and for people. Applicants must have federal work study as part of their financial aid offer.

Description of Duties:

  • Responsible for greeting visitors to the center from the front desk.
  • Answer phones, monitor email, and direct messages to the appropriate staff. Conduct retail transactions.
  • Successful candidates are expected to learn about NH Audubon in order to provide general information to visitors, encourage membership, promote education programs, and share conservation news and volunteer opportunities.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the center with light janitorial duties.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned. 
  • Opportunities to walk the grounds/trails to greet outdoor visitors.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a SNHU degree program
  • Work study as part of financial aid package
  • Reliable transportation
  • Some customer service and/or retail experience preferred. 
  • Knowledge of local wildlife, especially birds, preferred. 
  • Will provide training to the right candidate.

Work Schedule:

Mon-Fri 11am-5pm. 

Occasional shifts beginning at 9am and/or ending at 9pm during camp seasons (February, April, June-August) or for special events. Potential for weekend shifts for the successful candidate.

This position is designed to be shared between employees who will work complementary independent shifts, up to 20 hours per week for each employee.
