About the Work

• Work within Perception to design the software and ML architecture. Determine what we build and how it comes together into a robust and performant system.
• Collaborate with other Autonomy (Mapping, Localization, Prediction, Planning) and Infrastructure (Onboard/Machine Learning/Labeling/Simulation Infrastructure) teams to contribute to software system design decisions and implementation.
• Work with the Systems and Safety teams to design the Perception safety requirements and the strategies to test the Perception system for upcoming company deployments.
• Write performant, well-tested, and scalable C/C++ to deploy a real time robotics system into the real world. Optimize ML and robotics algorithms to reduce the reaction time of the system.
• Write performant, well-tested, and scalable C/C++ and Python software to develop the frameworks needed to a) train models b) quantify Perception performance, bc) continuously and automatically monitor for performance regressions, cd) discovering new failure modes and areas of improvements.

About You

• Track record of developing medium-to-large scale software in C/C++ and Python.
• Experience or familiarity with ML
• Experience in data analysis and/or development of system validation frameworks.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Passionate about Machine Learning/Robotics or Autonomous Driving (or both).

Bonus Points 

• Knowledge of Perception fundamentals: machine learning, tracking, sensor fusion, statistics, software optimization.
• Experience leading organizations, teams, or communities.

At Nuro, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position, the reasonably expected base pay range is between $138,225 and $207,575 for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package
