As the Finance Manager for our rentals business, you'll be responsible for all aspects of financial planning at Rent., our business that empowers millions nationwide to find apartments and houses for rent. 

Reporting to the Sr. Director of FP&A, you'll be part of a small Accounting & Finance team responsible for budgets, forecasts, and financial controls. Working with business leaders from Rent., you’ll take on interesting challenges while demonstrating your entrepreneurial drive and willingness to embrace ambiguity. 

The Role

• Lead financial planning and analysis; build and enhance complex financial forecast models and analytical tools to support decision making.
• Provide financial decision-making to support to Rent. leadership team.
• Develop monthly forecasts, annual budget, and five-year plan for Rent. business.
• Drive alignment of FP&A’s forecasting to SEC reporting, ensuring reporting accuracy.
• Provide insightful analysis and commentary to explain variances between actual and forecasted results and identify risks and opportunities.
• Partner with business leaders to provide financial insights and develop frameworks for key business decisions and strategic initiatives.
• Influence business partners with facts and data and have the ability to adapt to a rapidly evolving environment.
• Make thoughtful judgment calls in ambiguous environments where data may be scarce.

Skills & Experience 

• 5+ years of experience in FP&A, with an emphasis on budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning
• Public company experience is a plus, preferably in e-commerce or online platform
• Bachelor’s degree in finance or another STEM field 
• Expert-level knowledge of Excel 
• Advanced financial and modeling skills, including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
• Strong communication skills and the ability to convey analytical concepts clearly to peers and management
