We are Silicon Labs. We are a leader in secure, intelligent wireless technology for a more connected world. Our integrated hardware and software platform, intuitive development tools, unmatched ecosystem and robust support make us the ideal long-term partner in building advanced industrial, commercial, home and life applications. We make it easy for developers to solve complex wireless challenges throughout the product lifecycle and get to market quickly with innovative solutions that transform industries, grow economies and improve lives.

Meet the Team

The IoT Wireless products and chips designed and produced by Silicon Laboratories combines high performance with low power. These target a wide range of markets including wearables, home automation, secure wireless products and MCUs. The team is responsible for design of algorithms for the physical layer, architecture, Matlab implementation in floating and fixed point, microarchitecture design, Verilog implementation & verification and FPGA validation. Team’s post silicon responsibilities include chip bring up, validation and initial characterization. There is a high focus on innovation and excellence which has resulted in developing chips with the lowest power and best feature set in the industry. The team consists of highly enthusiastic members with wide range of experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Staff design engineer focusing on digital and DSP design of wireless PHY and MAC layer IPs and systems for low-power System-on-Chip IoT products.
  • A key member of a specialized, highly skilled IP/SoC development team spanning multiple wireless communications technologies such as Bluetooth Low-Energy, 802.15.4 Zigbee/Thread, 802.11 Wi-Fi and proprietary short-range wireless.
  • Taking designs through the complete development lifecycle from concept/study to silicon bring-up.

Skills You Will Need

Proficient in Verilog or VHDL and/or Matlab implementation of communications or signal processing blocks.

  • Experience with microarchitecture design is very strongly desired.
  • Good understanding of Matlab is strongly preferred but is not a must, provided he or she has had used C language as reference code instead. Candidates should be able to guide other engineers in addition to individual contribution.
  • Experience with Verilog/VHDL and Matlab for communication systems or signal processing blocks.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of OFDM is strongly desired but not a must.

Education and/or Experience

  • MS/MTech/PhD in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Communications and Signal Processing or VLSI.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in digital CMOS IC design with specific focus on DSP and communications.
