Topps International, a division of Fanatics Collectibles, is hiring a Director of Sales and Marketing for our trading card and sticker business in Italy. The ideal candidate is a successful developer of business, an excellent communicator and strategic problem solver, and must be a highly flexible self-starter with top-notch analytical skill. Candidates with a passion for sports, collectibles entertainment will likely find themselves a strong cultural fit. This is a full-time position based out of our office in Assago (MI), reporting to the Senior Director of Sales and Marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Set sales targets and goals for mass market, kiosk, hobby and hobby retail product channels, and ensure targets are met or exceeded
  • Analyze local market opportunities and needs, develop country specific strategies in order to achieve sales targets
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and potential partnerships within the industry
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the Sales and Marketing team in Italy, providing guidance and support to help them achieve individual and team KPIs
  • Work together with existing and new distribution partners, local suppliers and internal departments to deliver a smooth business operation and sustainable growth targets
  • Develop and execute strategies and plans to plans to expand the customer base
  • Establish strong relationship with all the stakeholders in this category (influencers, breakers, stores, distributors, sport clubs)
  • Oversee trading card shows and hobby events strategy in Italy
  • Define and implement marketing, communication and promotional strategy for category (trading cards, stickers, flow pack)
  • Monitor market trends and customer preferences to identify areas for improvement and innovation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Marketing and Product Development, to develop and launch new products and promotional campaigns
  • Analyze sales data and generate reports to track performance, identify trends, set pricing & forecasting, and provide insights for decision-making
  • Stay up to date with industry developments, emerging trends, and best practices in hobby and collectibles sales
  • Working together internal departments (operations, brand, finance) to secure allocation, delivery and profitable growth

Required Skills and Experience

  • At least 8 years’ experience in a sales and marketing leadership position in a relevant industry (collectibles, hobby, sports, toys, entertainment)
  • A sports fan with a strong understanding of the commercial landscape, including knowledge on the mass market & hobby trading card landscape is a huge plus
  • English and Italian fluency are a must
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Proven knowledge and application of a wide range of sales techniques and concepts to increase sales within the region
  • Engagement with local influencers and flagship stores in hobby & entertainment category
  • Flexible, but organized work method with the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing global environment
  • Excellent executive presentation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to respond positively to pressure and take a flexible approach to change
  • Comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Self-motivated and the ability to drive results
