Job Description

  1. This position is responsible to maintain a safe work environment and to fulfill statutory obligations concerning prevention of accidents. 
  2. Able to collaborate & manage cross-functional teams, contact manufacturers, and suppliers for smooth execution of operations and projects.
  3. Ready to stretch self and willing to travel to manufacturing locations as and when required
  4. Be a quick learner and understand all the processes and systems in a short period of time
  5. Establish self as go-to person and SME for all EHS aspects

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines, customer and organization requirements.
  2. Implementation & monitoring of EHS Management System according to International Standards (ISO14001 & ISO 45001), FSC, FM Global, BSC and Implementation of AD Corporate Systems & Procedures at site
  3. Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, programs, and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.
  4. Participating in EHS core team meetings in identifying aspects & hazards at the workplace/facilities and establishing control measures. Guiding & training site personnel in implementing them.
  5. Identify training needs, plan and organize training programs on EHS at different levels and Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention.
  6. Contributes to internal and external EHS audits- plan and conduct EHS audits at site & take corrective/preventive actions promptly
  7. Identify near misses, unsafe acts & unsafe conditions and ensure corrective/ preventive actions as a routine GEMBA within the workplace and conduct risk assessments to evaluate and mitigate risks and implementing the learnings from the Regional EHS with experience in using the platforms of iAuditor, Enablon, etc., 
  8. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and implement corrective and preventive measures to prevent reoccurrence. Incident/ Accident communication (escalation), investigation, analysis & recommendation of corrective & preventive actions to the site team
  9. Analyses and monitors adherence to EHS standards in assigned organizations and prepares regular EHS reporting
  10. Work in partnership with senior and site management to develop and implement strategies, policies and services to increase employee safety & reduce organization risks
  11. Analyses and reports on changes in relevant EHS laws and regulations and recommend changes for internal standards.
  12. Ensure timely monitoring of all environment compliances applicable to site in including hazardous waste management
  13. Incident Management: Training and Education: Provide EHS training and education to employees and management to increase awareness and understanding of EHS policies and procedures.
  14. Environmental Management: Oversee environmental initiatives, such as waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainability efforts, to minimize the organization’s environmental impact.
  15. Safety Programs: Develop and maintain safety programs, including emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and safety drills.
  16. Monitoring and Reporting: Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to ensure compliance and prepare reports for management and regulatory authorities.
  17. Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of EHS incidents, training sessions, inspections, and other relevant data.
  18. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, engineering, and human resources, to integrate EHS practices into daily operations.
  19. Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor EHS performance, analyze trends, and implement improvements to enhance the overall safety and environmental performance of the organization.
  20. Regulatory Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for government agencies, representing the company during EHS inspections and audits.
  21. Emergency Response: Develop and lead emergency response procedures, ensuring that employees are prepared to respond effectively to emergencies.
  22. Contractor Management: Oversee EHS requirements for contractors and vendors working on-site to ensure their compliance with safety regulations.
  23. Budget Management: Manage the EHS budget, including identifying cost-effective solutions for EHS initiatives and equipment purchases.
  24. Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and changes in regulations to ensure the organization’s EHS programs remain current and effective.
  25. Support 5s implementation as additional responsibilities.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelors in chemical/electrical/mechanical engineering and Diploma in industrial safety (DIS/ADIS) from CLI or RLI 
  2. Hands on work experience of 8-10 years and have minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing industries

Knowledge & skills:

Fluent in English & Hindi, Marathi will be added advantage

  • Strong Technical report writing & Presentation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge on common computer software programs (i.e. Google platforms & EHS Software like Enablon, iAuditor etc.)
