Department 01908 - HCI Allie Grossmann Lab Job Summary

We are recruiting a postdoctoral scientist interested in pre-clinical and translational studies to help us study how membrane trafficking controls tumor-intrinsic mechanisms of immune evasion and tumor progression/metastasis. We use a variety of in vivo and in vitro models and perform discovery work with patient samples.

Potential postdoctoral projects include:

  • Studying mechanisms by which vesicular trafficking machinery enable tumor cells to recruit suppressive immune cells to the tumor microenvironment.
  • Investigating how ARF6-mediated recycling of surface proteins impacts tumor immune evasion.
  • Investigating ARF6-dependent lipid, protein and nucleic acid cargo in tumor-derived extracellular vesicles and how this cargo alters the tumor immune microenvironment.

We value team work and a healthy work-life balance in beautiful Utah. The Grossmann Lab is located at the Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, where we are part of an outstanding community of cancer biologists and immunologists. The Huntsman Cancer Institute is an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center with a vibrant and supportive research environment and access to state-of-the-art facilities, sitting right on the steps of the Wasatch Mountains.

Postdoc with a primary duty consisting research-related work. Required to meet FLSA threshold to be paid on a salaried basis, otherwise employment record will convert to hourly.

Retirement provided.

Huntsman Cancer Institute is committed to cancer prevention, care, and survivorship for all communities within the area we serve – which includes Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming – with impact worldwide. Partnerships with individuals, communities, and many other entities are crucial to our work.
