TITLE: Tax Analyst

LOCATION: Mexico

Job description:

Perform various functions to manage and coordinate all aspects of sales tax in the US for NCR Voyix. This position requires an ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where attention to detail, analytical skills and strong communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Researching sales tax issues and providing guidance based on tax laws and regulations.
  • Handling and providing resolution to customers’ invoice disputes as related to tax matters.
  • Assisting with the reconciliation of transaction tax general ledger accounts
  • Assisting the senior tax accountant with sales / use tax audits conducted by taxing jurisdictions.
  • Developing and implementing process improvements
  • Assisting with any other indirect tax projects as needed
  • Maintain knowledge of sales and excise tax law
  • Regularly communicate with the sales tax manager regarding projects and tasks
  • Develop good working relationships with personnel within the Finance, Purchasing, Shared Services and other operations teams.
  • Identify and assist with the implementation of process enhancements to correct issues stemming from invoices disputes or other diligences.
  • Perform administrative tasks in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned by the sales tax Manager.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA or CMI preferred, but not required. Public accounting experience a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience as part of a dynamic multi-state sales tax team in the technology industry
  • Exceptional oral/written communication skills with ability to interact professionally with diverse groups.
  • Working knowledge of OneSource (Thompson Reuters) or similar sales tax decision making software is preferred, along with diverse enterprise system knowledge or adaptability.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to manage and make progress on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to gather facts, research a tax position, and accurately communicate tax advice.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional oral/written communication skills with ability to interact professionally with diverse groups.
  • Good working knowledge of multi-state sales tax rules and regulations. Ability to apply these rules to transactions in the technology industry.
  • Excellent work ethic - high standard of performance and production
