The IT Solution Architect is responsible for the delivery of Solution Architecture Designs, Governance alignment, Blueprinting, Technology Enablement, Research and Education in the organisation.

Provide expertise in application and data architecture. Create strategic roadmaps, blueprints, and solution designs for application project initiatives in conjunction with the Global Architecture Function. Refine and manage the process by which solutions are initiated, assessed, governed, and implemented, in coordination with all relevant parties.

Responsibilities:

Software Architecture and Solutioning:

  • Provide governance, solution direction, best practices in collaboration with local, regional solution and delivery team
  • Interpret Business Requirements Specifications in order to guide Solution Architecture Specifications that align customer expectations and IT capability
  • Define Design Principles aligned with Chubb’s global standard, Cloud and hosting strategy, Addressing Security Gaps in the solution
  • Develop flexible, adaptable, modular and reusable business solution designs in collaboration with Global Architect Community, product delivery and operation support teams
  • Evaluate and recommend the use of cutting-edge technologies and methods, considering their pros & technical limitations keeping aligned with Chubb standard
  • Closely work with the delivery and development team lead in building the technology modernization such as DevOps and cloud migration
  • Adopt Chubb global standards for integration, such as API design frameworks, service orcherstration, rules management, service monitoring etc., over tools such as Camel, Drools, Camunda, Eagle etc.,
  • Adopt front end standards and technologies such as Angular, Node JS, Java Script, Bootstrap etc., for any front end development
  • Ensure data encyption and security controls are well thought through during the software design process and adhere to the global standards of Chubb group
  • Provide key solution inputs into the Architectural Governance Process and influence the definition of the annual investment plan in alignment with local, global strategies and roadmaps.

Technical Collaboration:

  • Ensure validation and guidance on solution design implementation throughout the development lifecycle
  • Evolve the Technology Landscape taking advantage of available and emerging technology capabilities in support of and in alignment with local, global business development and transformation strategies
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architect and Global Engineering Community. Share and listen to experiences and technology insights of members globally to improve Life solutions and contribute value to Chubb as a whole.
  • Within Technology, be able to communicate and collaborate with system owners to develop a technical direction and an overarching strategy to move a platform forward.

Business Partnership: Work closely with the Technology leaders to ensure full alignment of Architecture, Standard and selection of technologies to their business vision and positively engage key stakeholders to ensure technology is seen as an enabler of strategy.

Technical Quality: Review the solution designs being produced by the development teams. Ensure that designs adhere to the overall architectural blueprint by reviewing the technical documentation generated by the teams.

Technology Governance: As digital business, ecosystems and technologies gain increased momentum, ensure IT governance remains current and effectively supports the organisation.

Risk Management: passionate with ensuring privacy and protection of customer, partner and employee data plus takes full ownership for all technology-related emerging risks and the management of them.

Team Leadership: Sets a good ethical example and is seen as the role model with upholding and modelling Corporate’s values, even in challenging situations, when making decisions and communicating to others.

Qualifications:

  • Deep industry knowledge on Life Insurance and related technologies. Must have experience in programming (any programming language), system architecture and solutioning.
  • Total overall experience of 15+ years with a minimum of 5yrs Insurance technology solution and Architecture experience
  • Experience working in large, complex, corporate business and technology programs.
  • Extensive hands-on experience designing all tiers of the solution architecture.
  • Previous experience working in a multi-national company, in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Effective engagement and alignment of IT with Executive sponsors and Business Stakeholders
  • Effective in discussing complex problems and solutions with Developers and Senior Executives alike. Able to give presentations to large groups of listeners and lead discussions to drive to a final decision or outcome.
  • Language: The ability to effectively conduct business in English
  • The IT Solution Architect should have a bachelor or master’s degree of Computer Engineering or relevant fields.
