About the Role

We’re looking for a passionate, commercially minded, technical product marketing leader for our Merchant Product Marketing team. This person will be responsible for leading a team that is defining Uber’s global marketing strategy to better understand, attract and engage restaurants and retailers across our marketplace and white label delivery solutions. It’s a highly cross-functional role that sits at the intersection of product, marketing, sales, business development and customer experience with an opportunity to shape the future of retail on demand.

Every transaction on Uber’s delivery business requires connection with one of our nearly 1 million merchants globally - everything from a tiny local restaurant to global enterprise retailers. The types of features worked on will include everything from how they get started with the platform, manage day to day operations, and take their businesses to the next level.

What You’ll Do

  • Cross-functional Leadership: Have influence over how cross-functional groups connect with Merchants, partnering closely with sales, business development and operations to provide merchants with consistent messaging and high quality interactions with Uber.
  • Strategic Vision Setting: Build the merchant experience vision and narrative - encourage teams to put merchants at Uber's core. Constantly push our thinking to be creative and fresh, guiding teams to bring the work to life across our product suite.
  • Research & Insights: Craft the learning agenda in partnership with research teams and use the insights to inform and guide ongoing product development, regional marketing and central engagement programs.
  • Messaging & Positioning: Streamline how we communicate the breadth of our offerings to merchants across different audiences, bring together the global marketing and performance marketing team members to set shared goals and coordinate our narrative to merchants.
  • Global Leadership: Guide central and local strategies and tactics, working closely with the regional sales and operations teams to determine scaled resources and support in local implementation of best practices.
  • Go-to-Market: Evolve our go-to-market muscle on the merchant product and product marketing teams to ensure we are effectively educating our customers with the right message, at the right time.
  • Team Management: Lead of experienced product marketers, encouraging them to strive for excellence. Prioritize projects across the team to ensure business needs are being met.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of product marketing experience delivering highly successful engagement and acquisition strategies for businesses.
  • 3+ years of people management experience (leading, growing, and developing teams).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Can articulate the essence of complex products and the value they create. Can develop a strong messaging hierarchy and effective content strategy plan.
  • The willingness and know-how to deeply understand the market, customers and competition.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be comfortable presenting and sharing work with executive leadership.
  • Strong leadership presence and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and motivate people at all levels across a broad variety of job functions.
  • Strong analytical skills - uses data to create insightful stories, inform strategies and guide decision making.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a large number of teams across multiple countries, time-zones, backgrounds and functions to push projects to completion.
  • A hard-working, detailed, organized, and motivated self-starter, who enjoys challenges and is not deterred by complicated/complex situations.
  • Experience working with both SMBs and enterprise businesses
  • Hands-on experience working in restaurants or retail. is a plus

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year.

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber’s cultural identity.
