We are seeking an Engineering Manager who will be responsible leading engineering teams who will be working on the design aspects of our state-of-the-art anaerobic digestion facilities with biogas upgrading for our customers in the US. Our projects range from standard equipment supply to complex Design Build efforts. A DAY IN THE LIFE 

As a leader of our team, you will be responsible for a full range of activities including, but not limited to, the following: 

  • Be an integral part of our safety culture, approaching all aspects of work with a safety-first attitude. 
  • Establish, lead and mentor the project team by identifying internal and external resources, including external subcontractor(s) as needed. 
  • Oversee the execution of design projects lead by teams within the organization and our external partners. 
  • Manage and mentor senior and staff engineers. 
  • Ensure excellence in technical aspects of the project including planning, design execution, Safety-in-Design, external vendor relationships, communications, resource management, project schedule/scope/budget, and quality control. 
  • Lead and oversee the preparation of detailed designs, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates for water (including groundwater, stormwater, surface water and drinking water) and vapor treatment facilities. More specific responsibilities include establishing appropriate design methods, conducting engineering and process design, equipment sizing and selection, coordinating with other engineering disciplines, and design deliverable preparation. 
  • Learn and understand the highly technical product that we are delivering to our customers. 
  • Review and perform engineering calculations for piping systems, pump selection, heat transfer and treatment process optimization. 
  • Strive for the development of reliable, effective and safe products that have an impact on the emerging contaminant marketplace. 
  • Identify technical issues and approaches for evaluation. 
  • Perform construction, fabrication and start-up oversite with our partner fabrication shops and customers’ contractors; sees their design vision through to completion and function. 
  • Oversee quality control and quality assurance tests and ensures designs are compliant with the clients’ technical requirements and budget(s). 
  • Assist in marketing business opportunities with key clients and development of responses to RFP/RFQs. 
  • Serve as a key client contact tasked with building and maintaining client relations with both internal and external clients coupled with the development of new clients. 
  • Travel to the project sites; provide timely responses to managers and clients (domestic and international travel up to 20%). 
  • Exercise safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs.  
  • Participate in Company’s continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts.  
  • Keep up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS 

To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil and Environmental, Chemical or Process Engineering from an accredited university 
  • 12+ years of engineering-related experience in water or wastewater treatment 
  • Prior experience with direct leadership and/or mentorship of others 
  • Professional Engineering Registration 
  • Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills, including a demonstrated ability to lead multi-discipline teams and motivate others 
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management 
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills 
  • Solid time/project management skills 
  • Able to handle multiple assignments and oversee multiple teams. 
  • Knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, SCADA, structural and architectural disciplines along with working knowledge of AutoCAD 
  • Able to work independently manage multiple responsibilities (i.e. self-starter, self-motivated) 
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software, Google and/or PC programs
