TITLE: Charging Products Digital Controls Engineer
DUTIES: BorgWarner Ithaca, LLC seeks a Charging Products Digital Controls Engineer based out of our office at 3800 Automation Avenue, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address.
Responsible for conducting control algorithm architecture development and debugging; developing detailed system simulations to verify control algorithms; utilizing tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and protocol analyzers to bring up and debug hardware; conducting documentation in requirements management tools, such as polarion; conducting documentation of relevant product specifications in accordance with internal standards and external standards in preparation for certification or homologation; following a rigorous engineering development process; supporting robust DFMEA and DVP&R development; acting as a product lead in the lab during prototype builds, tests, troubleshoots, or teardowns throughout the product development and validation; other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or a related field and 60 months of experience in job offered or related in the automotive industry. Experience must include: experience working with HV and High-power systems; experience conducting software architecture development, execution, and debugging; experience conducting DFMEA and DVP&R development; experience conducting UML modeling; experience using communication buses, including CAN, SPI, UART, and Ethernet; experience conducting system level engineering for electrical and mechanical systems; and experience working with EVSE and battery products.
