POSITION OVERVIEW

Alarm.com, a highly innovative and entrepreneurial SaaS (Software as a Service) company, is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst to join our finance department primarily supporting our subsidiary companies. The Sr. Financial Analyst will be a hands-on, and self-directed individual responsible for all aspects of financial planning across various subsidiary business units as well as the identification and reporting of key performance indicators. The ideal candidate will be curious and informed with regards to the latest in finance and industry news, will be customer oriented, and have a history of developing and cultivating relationships outside of the finance department, both with senior executives and a diverse group of functional area employees. This position will report to the Sr. Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis and will work closely with other members of the senior management team to help achieve the potential of our growing company.

RESPONSIBILTIES

The Sr. Financial Analyst’s primary job responsibilities may include but not be limited to:

• Support the long-term budgeting and forecasting processes with subsidiary business unit leadership and ensure alignment with the Company’s long-term strategic business plan
• Provide management reporting on financial, operational, and revenue acquisition performance metrics to subsidiary business units and FP&A management
• Contribute to plan execution by not only identifying and monitoring key financial and operating metrics, but also by establishing inter-departmental relationships and internal reporting cadences with business units
• Aid in the production of both long- and short-term operating plans, ensuring strong linkage between the operating plan, short term tactics and long-term strategy
• Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual results against budget and forecasts
• Prepare materials and coordinate business reviews with management
• Review of strategic partnerships and contractual terms and work with technical accounts to appropriately capture proper revenue recognition in the forecast
• Develop and implement methods and techniques to improve forecasting, financial evaluations and analyses, financial processes, and system functionality
• Assist with the month-end close process, including subsidiary business unit commission processes
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• 4-6 years of total experience, preferably in technology-focused corporate finance, public accounting, or equity analysis
• Bachelor’s in Finance or similar
• Strong financial systems skills, including advanced Excel.
• Experience working a high growth company or division and working closely with operating managers throughout an organization; corporate finance experience within a SaaS business strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, solve problems, draw valid conclusions, and make actionable recommendations in a timely and accurate manner.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Must be hands-on and comfortable working independently
