Operational Excellence Engineer - Bevaix

Job Overview: 

Weller Erem, a leader in precision tool manufacturing, is in search of an Operational Excellence (OpEx) Engineer with a solid background in operational excellence, precision manufacturing, and shop floor management. This mid-career position calls for a professional adept in lean manufacturing and daily operational management, including Gemba walks and leading kaizen events.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design and manage efficient manufacturing cells, emphasizing lean methodologies
• Standardize processes to ensure uniformity and efficiency across production lines
• Conduct daily shop floor management, including reporting, gemba walks, and overseeing day-to-day operations
• Lead and execute kaizen events to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes
• Implement and optimize automation strategies in mass manufacturing settings
• Collaborate with various teams to integrate and enhance manufacturing procedures

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in Operational Excellence
• Proven track record in shop floor management, including conducting Gemba walks and Kaizen events
• Expertise in lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
• Strong leadership, communication and teamwork skills
• Experience in project management and staff training in operational excellence practices
