We are seeking a Supervising Engineer/Project Manager to manage engineering work on large and complex reuse projects. Responsibilities

  • Manages and conducts engineering work on wastewater and reuse projects for multiple clients
  • Prepares and delivers technical evaluations, reports and electronic deliverables
  • Supervise or coordinate the work of staff engineers, drafters, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments
  • Responsible for acting independently and making authoritative decisions on technical matters
  • Responsible for budget, schedule, contractual obligations and quality standards
  • Anticipates client needs and works with the client to determine objectives and requirements of new task assignments
  • Develops significant relationships with new and existing clients and shares responsibility for client maintenance
  • Involved in exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation, and development of novel concepts and approaches
  • Initiates and maintains contacts with key engineers and officials of other organizations and companies
  • Involved on team that prepares proposals, conducts interviews and negotiates contracts with clients after selection
  • Supports firm's relationships with client management personnel
  • Active in professional associations, including presentation of technical papers, member of technical committee, officer of local or national organization
  • Identify needs for recruitment of new employees and participates in selection process
  • Travel required when requested

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California
  • 10+ years professional experience (exclusive of any advanced degree)
  • Experience includes wastewater and reuse design experience in the field of environmental consulting engineering with an emphasis in hydraulics, physical, chemical, and biological treatment processes and treatment plant design for wastewater and reuse.
  • Familiar with a broad range of issues related to wastewater and reuse systems, including master planning, conveyance, with an emphasis on treatment plant design
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with multiple clients and project teams
  • Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Work well in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Experience in MBR treatment and advanced treatment facilities design
  • Design and construction phase experience
  • Experienced in in using tools to manage project financials, managing schedule, and in manage quality

Pay Range

$115,000 to $180,000 annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
