Your ‘day to day’

You will be employed under Philip Morris (Malaysia). PMM operates as a subsidiary of Philip Morris International, Inc. As a Technical Leader in Industrialization engineering, responsible for leading the development of manufacturing process and implementing Reverse Operation & Sustaining programs. Your role will involve ensuring the readiness of all technical and operational activities related to manufacturing processes, assembly, test and automation. Your expertise will be critical in enabling the success of the entire new product induction cycle, from initial stages to mass production.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for a product line and collaborate with multi-functional NPI teams, R&D, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to ensure technical readiness for the product line.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the technical aspects of our product (technical roadmap, product capabilities), our supply chain (component suppliers, EMS and repair hub) Synthesize feedback from manufacturing partners and provide recommendations to the Product and Engineering teams.
  • Coordinate yield improvement activities across multiple teams and suppliers. Drive failure analysis and develop corrective action implementation plans from engineering build to end of production. Apply the lessons learned to enhance the next generation of products.
  • Identify and provide advices on technical challenges by reviewing new products, process designs, and specifications to ensure scalability.
  • Lead process development and equipment designs, both for fresh builds and second-life applications. This includes defining requirements, generating concepts, conducting detailed design, analysis and verification testing, facilitating multi-functional reviews, and production release.

We are looking for:

  • A university degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent field, is required.
  • Extensive professional experience as a Technical Program Manager or in a similar role, specifically working with engineering teams to deliver advanced manufacturing solutions for high-volume production of consumer electronic products.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of proficiency in English are essential for success in this role. Proficiency in Chinese language (both speaking and writing) is highly desirable and considered a strong asset.
