TikTok is the leading destination for short-form mobile video. We're looking for a passionate product designer to lead on the TikTok Effect Platform and help millions of creators to share their creative effects. Join our fast growing team at TikTok in San Jose/ Los Angeles, CA to lead and own product features that help evolve and drive impact for TikTok globally.

From ideation through iteration, the Product Designer will work with TikTok design team members (Product Design, Visual Design, Effects Design, Motion Design) and our PM, engineering, marketing, and QA teams. You should possess extraordinary visual and user interface skills and user-centered design principles. You have a great sense of aesthetics and aim for the highest design quality with achievable solutions. You are an excellent team player and able to exhibit your design work in a global collaboration environment.

Qualifications

Key Qualifications

• 8+ years designing UXUI for consumer-facing products across the web, mobile, tool or others
• Strong in visual design, interaction design, and regularly execute prototypes using tools like Principle, Framer, or AE to rapidly test and iterate complex interactions and experiences
• Experience working with design systems (design components, icon, arts, motion, illustration)
• Great communication skills to be able to articulate your concepts, vision and decision-making
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders across the org
• Ability to rapidly iterate and produce multiple concepts
• Self-motivated and able to efficiently run a project without close supervision
• Highly skilled and efficient in using any tools you need to visualize your ideas and deliver the work
• Experience with a/b testing and a data driven practice
• Results oriented and resilient. Ability to fit within a startup culture which celebrates efficiency and driving impact
• At times, work efficiently under high levels of pressure and demanding timelines
• A passion and enthusiasm for TikTok and its community

Additional Requirements

• Strong experience designing for web and complex admin / dashboard tools. Bonus if you have basic front end knowledge, css html js and responsive web
• Mastery of Figma/ Sketch, Adobe suite
• Deep knowledge of consumer-facing products, and demonstrated proficiency in the formal elements of design including typography, color and layout
• Portfolio is required
