Team Overview

Luminar Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior System Administrator to join our team.

The Senior System Administrator will work with the current system administration team performing day-to-

day tasks to maintain a lean and efficient server and network infrastructure while collaborating on special

projects and provide support/assistance to Luminar's current staff. This individual will require strong

diagnostic and problem-solving skills and abilities. We are looking for a full-time candidate who is eager to

learn, reliable, ready, and able to complete assigned tasks with minimal direction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and maintain user accounts for corporate networks and applications. 
  • Configure and maintain Windows and Linux servers in physical and virtualized environments. 
  • Automate server processes/routines. 
  • Maintain and support IT applications and licensing.
  • Perform routine OS and application upgrades.
  • Document IT processes and procedures and deliver cross-training to IT staff and end-users.
  • Take ownership of customer issues reported and see problems through to resolution.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues for end-user software applications, both on-site and

remotely.

  • Assist support personnel with closure of tickets as needed.
  • Document work done in Helpdesk ticketing system.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary.
  • Monthly Windows server and Linux updates
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 8+ Years of systems administration experience.
  • Availability of up to 20% travel per year to other office locations.
  • Experience administering Windows Server.
  • Experience administering Linux
  • Experience administering Windows Active Directory.
  • Experience administering virtual hosts using VMWare Suite (vSphere and vCenter).
  • Experience with scripting with PowerShell or similar scripting languages for automation.
  • Experience implementing and supporting SSO solutions, such as Okta or Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts such as: TCP/IP protocol stack, DNS, DHCP, CIFS,

NFS, SSH, SSL, port security, and Ethernet patching.

  • Understanding of storage solutions and file encryption methodology.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic network issues, including

wireless.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, in a professional manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible hours and the ability to be on call or work non-standard hours during emergencies and

maintenance windows.

  • Ability to comfortably lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, a related IT field, or

equivalent work experience.

PREFERRED

  • AWS administration experience is a plus.
  • Jira/Atlassian/Confluence administration experience is a plus.
  • AV support experience is a plus.
  • Experience with highly dynamic environments is a plus.

At Luminar, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays a base between $130,000.00 and $146,000.00* per year. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. You will also be eligible to receive other benefits including: equity in the form of restricted stock unit awards, comprehensive medical and dental coverage, 401k plan, life and disability benefits, flexible time off, paid parental leave, and tuition reimbursement for formal education related to advancing your career at Luminar.
