Job Summary

If you are a product design and development professional, Emerson has an exciting role for you! We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to work with our Pervasive Sensing Team. This role will work independently and as a part of a team to execute ETO, NPD and VA/VE programs for Knife gate valve products. You will be work on Valve design tasks, which includes concept design, Structural strength calculations, refer international standards, product testing, Release manufacturing drawings, working with suppliers to resolve technical queries and develop prototype samples and interact with Global Engineering teams.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Work within engineering team to lead in concept designs & develop final design for ETO, NPD & VA/VE programs.
  • Undertake calculations and preparation of design records to verify mechanical design of valves and accessories.
  • Preparation of design documentation for Design Reviews
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams and suppliers to conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) considerations.
  • Preparation of submissions for Product Certifications applicable to valve industry.
  • Create / Review 3D part & assembly models, 2D manufacturing drawings, engineering BoMs.
  • Support sales & marketing literature, technical documentation incl. IOMs , TDS and Technical Bulletin.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Minimum 8 to 10 years' Proven experience on new product designs, development, engineering calculations and design Documentation
  • Experience with industrial design standards like ASME/ANSI standards, API, EN etc.
  • Should have good understanding of Machinability, Manufacturing processes like Casting or Forging components and materials use in General mechanical industry.
  • should have good knowledge/work experience on valve testing and certifications like PED, API etc
  • Should have at least one of CAD tool experience - Inventor, SolidWorks or any.
  • Fluent in English (both written and verbal) and effectively communicate with Local, Global & cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor's Mechanical Engineering Degree or related Engineering
  • Design for Six sigma or equivalent process certificates will be an added advantage
