5G Embedded Hardware and Software Engineer

Key Role:

Serve as a 5G and Embedded hardware and Software Engineer. Perform software and hardware design, development, and testing of all Software Defined Radio (SDR) software including its FPGA and host interface. Work with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives by devising or modifying procedures to solve complex problems. Apply expertise in C++, Python programming and RF processing applications for software defined radios and corresponding frameworks. Direct and coordinate the design, development, implementation and support functions for embedded systems design and engineering. Develop software for embedded systems, design and integration of embedded systems with sensors. Test 5G Network RAN and Core software builds using C++ and Docker. Develop and reverse engineer software that supports hardware functionality on a wide range of devices, as well as configure solutions based on the platform being used. Work with software defined radio design and development, including RF processing applications. Leverage technical expertise in the analysis and design of integrated circuits for critical technologies for the DoD and other clients.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in working with Python, C/C++, Docker, Linux command line and Hardware Description Language
  • Experience with GnuRadio or SDR frameworks
  • Experience with 5G 3GPP mobile standards and other wireless protocols
  • Experience working on 5G RAN and Core
  • Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing (DSP), FPGA, Xilinx Vivado, and human-machine interface (HMI)
  • Knowledge of SCADA framework for industrial automation
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in CS, Computer Engineering, MIS, or Computer Information Systems

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
