Microchip Technology Inc. is a leading provider of embedded control applications. Our product portfolio comprises general purpose and specialized 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit microcontrollers, 32-bit microprocessors, field-programmable gate array (FPGA) products, a broad spectrum of high-performance linear, mixed-signal, power management, thermal management, radio frequency (RF), timing, safety, security, wired connectivity and wireless connectivity devices, as well as serial Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM), Serial Flash memories, Parallel Flash memories, and serial Static Random Access Memory (SRAM).

We also license Flash-IP solutions that are incorporated in a broad range of products.

Department Description

The FPGA BU Silicon Engineering team is located across multiple sites internationally, including Yerevan. The team is responsible for the design and development of Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) processor blocks within the next generation Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) System on Chip (SoC) products. This is a multi-processor-based system with leading edge RISC-V processor, memory, peripheral and interconnect subsystems. We are looking to augment our team with creatively inspired individuals from Armenia’s top universities.

What will you do in this position

We are looking for people with a broad range of skills starting from RTL design, through embedded software as well as scripting. So, if you are a creative, technology driven individual looking to expand your knowledge and skills in this area, the Silicon Engineering development team in Armenia is the ideal place for you.

Key job responsibilities/duties include:

  • Researching and documenting innovative approaches to design challenges.
  • Working within a multidisciplinary environment, learning processes and tools for the development verification and validation of ASIC subsystems.
  • Direct participation in supervised modular tasks within current Silicon Engineering projects.

Requirements/Qualifications:

What we are looking for in a qualified candidate

Qualifications and Experience

  • Graduate in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent degree
  • Good knowledge of hardware description language, Verilog, VHDL, System C.
  • Working knowledge of C/C++.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems and processor architectures.
  • Knowledge of SYN/STA.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages: Perl, Tcl, Shell.

Competencies

  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
