KPFF offers an internship program designed to provide qualified candidates with an opportunity to learn the day-to-day knowledge and skills necessary to become a structural engineer. Internships also provide KPFF with the opportunity to get to know potential future KPFF employees.
KPFF Birmingham is looking to provide internships with the goal that those internships turn into full-time engineering positions. Many KPFF employees, including KPFF Birmingham’s principal-in-charge, began their careers with KPFF as interns.
KPFF is dedicated to providing an engaging and informative experience for its interns. Additionally, if someone has a desire to complete an internship outside of a summer schedule, KPFF is willing to work out a schedule with outstanding applicants while they attend school. Interns have the opportunity to work one-on-one with all levels of the organization; from principals to project engineers to drafting technicians. Our interns gain valuable consulting experience ranging from structural engineering design tasks, drawing coordination tasks, construction site visits, and construction administration services. An intern's job duties may vary week-to-week, but every intern will work alongside experienced structural engineers committed to developing future engineers.
