Job Summary:
The Meyer lab is seeking a computational Research Associate I who is interested in working on research projects related to omics and data science. Potential projects relate to deep learning and machine learning for multi-omic data integration or cheminformatics, and algorithm development for single cell omics data. Ideal candidates will be fluent in python and have demonstrated experience with pytorch or tensorflow, scikit-learn, pandas, numpy, and seaborn. Experience with R is a bonus. Preference will be give to candidates who have demonstrated research experience through co-authored papers and public GitHub repositories. Candidates with interest in wet lab work will have the option to also work in the lab.
Working under direct supervision, the Research Associate I performs a variety of routine experimental protocols and procedures to support the objectives of one or more laboratory research projects in a specific area of research. May also assists in general laboratory activities, including maintenance of reagents and stocking of supplies. May help file and monitors documents. Keeps accurate and detailed records of experiments and results. May assist in the operation of specialized equipment and machinery. Observes safety standards and procedures. The Research Assistant I may perform routine cellular, micro- and molecular biology procedures. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
