THE OPPORTUNITY

This position is a key member of the Corporate Accounting group based in Newark, NJ. The Corporate Accountant is primarily responsible for supporting various projects related to internal control processes and system implementations with guidance from the Manager of Corporate Accounting and various stakeholders. The ideal candidate is highly driven, detail oriented and eager to learn. The position reports to the Manager of Corporate Accounting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with various system implementation efforts by providing guidance related to accounting matters and process workflows and reconciling relevant data between systems.
  • Assist with ongoing projects related to the following as well as any new projects that arise:
  • Optimization of procurement and accounts payable processes, including implementation of PO process for indirect spending
  • Integration of robotic process automation (RPA) into current workflows
  • Continuous improvement and monitoring of internal control processes
  • Documentation of transactions and processes from initiation to recording including updates during the implementation of improvements
  • Dissolution of legal entities
  • Manage communications with the Shared Service Center in Malaysia regarding accounting tasks that have been transitioned or are in process of being transitioned.
  • Track issues and follow-ups and communicate to relevant teams in a timely manner
  • Work with the Shared Service Center in Malaysia and internal audit team to develop process improvements for transitioned tasks
  • Perform routine testing of internal controls, including entity-level controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404.
  • Work with internal and external auditors regarding internal control matters as needed.
  • Issue purchase orders and maintain the budget for the Corporate Accounting team.
  • Assist in integrating processes related to a business combination or acquisition.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and initiatives, such as preparing a summary and analysis of project-related data.

Qualifications

HOW YOU CAN FIT (Qualifications)

  • 2-3 years of experience, public accounting is a plus
  • CPA a plus (or eligible to sit for the CPA exam/has parts passed)
  • Knowledgeable of US GAAP and SOX compliance requirements
  • Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task, prioritize and stay flexible, while meeting deadlines and goals
  • Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
  • Fast learner, positive professional attitude, and able to work as part of a dynamic team
  • Knowledge of Oracle Cloud preferred
