Your Mission:

This position is an exciting opportunity to impact how organizations deliver clinical trials more efficiently and effectively so that life-saving therapies reach more patients faster. You will develop, communicate, and own persona-specific go-to-market plans and product positioning that demonstrate to our customers the value of Medidata’s clinical trial financial management solutions, Grants Manager, and Site Payments, as well as our CTMS (Clinical Trial Management System) and eTMF (electronic Master File) solutions. Reporting to the VP of Product Marketing, you’ll work alongside product management, product marketers, global and field marketing, and sales enablement to drive these clinical operations software solutions’ go-to-market strategy, value proposition, and selling efforts. You will formulate messaging and write content, develop and execute marketing launch plans, prepare thought leadership presentations for industry events, generate collateral to support campaigns and demand generation tactics, and support customer insights and market research activities. To thrive in this role, you must be comfortable interacting with multiple stakeholders across the organization to turn around compelling content, and high attention to detail is a must. The ideal candidate will have experience in both product marketing and clinical trials and is comfortable running without direction and taking initiative in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Your Responsibilities:

Contribute to and fully understand the development and go-to-market strategy for your products

Be an internal SME for your product area, maintaining a deep understanding of product functionality, user and buyer benefits, product roadmaps, and strategies

Support the development and execution of the go-to-market planning for Medidata’s financial, trial, and document management solutions, including messaging, sales enablement materials, internal and external communication materials, promotional activities, evidence of value, and other deliverables, as appropriate 

Provide all event support (identification of speakers and development of content) related to your product areas

Identify opportunities for increasing customer and business value by representing the voice of the customer

Evaluate and communicate competitive threats, strengths, and weaknesses, and fine-tune messaging

Be attuned to the market (through frequent and planned meetings with customer-facing personnel and other feedback methods) so that you are at the pulse of customer challenges and how our offerings need to be shaped to meet those and assist in mitigating those pain points

Conceive and create thought leadership and educational content to broaden the awareness and understanding of our product

Provide marketing support to the sales team in generating and customizing collateral and presenting at customer meetings

Create customer personas that will serve as inspiration and guides for marketing initiatives

Generate customer success case studies through customer interviews and metrics from the platform

Manage to an agreed schedule of deliverables and within agreed budgets. Manage oversight tools in support.

Your Competencies:

Marketing/Product Marketing Experience in healthcare, clinical trials, and/or SaaS

Knowledge and experience in the development, management, marketing, and/or sales of enterprise software - primarily hosted, web-based software 

Strategic thinker, inquisitive, and able to see the big picture while applying to business needs

Strong collaborator with ability to work with all levels of stakeholders

Excellent writing and editorial skills and proven content creation experience

Strong presentation skills

Experience in designing and executing marketing and communications programs

Self-motivated, able to assume responsibility and work autonomously in a professional manner 

Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Your Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Computer Sciences, or Life Sciences, or equivalent experience; Master’s degree or MBA a plus

Requires a minimum of 5-10 years of related experience, with knowledge and experience in the life sciences industry

The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $135,000 to $180,000.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata’s non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
