What to expect:

The TTI Floor Care Engineering Co-Op program consists of 3-4 paid work semesters alternating with your schooling to provide Engineering and Product Development opportunities for high-performing Engineering students who have completed their sophomore year. Engineering at TTI Floor Care North America is responsible for the end-to-end development and management of finished goods, from ideation to commercialization. The successful candidate will gain experience in prototype development and 3D printing, test validation, mechanical or electrical design, Pro E CAD work, and the overall product development process.

Our co-op program is designed to provide you with real world experience and exposure in multiple areas within the design and validation life cycle. These co-op opportunities are comprehensive, interactive and strategically integrated into the departmental function of Engineering. We are looking for co-ops with the right mix of talent and enthusiasm, with proven leadership skills, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work cross functionally in a team setting!

Location: 

This opportunity is located in the TTI Floor Care North America US headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina. Housing stipend offered for co-ops located outside of a 50 mile radius from office.

Requirements:

  • A Sophomore or Junior working towards undergraduate degree in the areas of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related fields
  • GPA of 3.0 and above (preferred)
  • Self-starter with strong communication, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Open to working in a dynamic and ever changing environment
  • Creative thinker with a strong aptitude for problem resolution

Expected Experiences

  • 1st term: Work in the Prototype Model shop and Test Validation labs gaining experience with 3D printing, the overall prototyping process, and test operations.
  • 2nd term: Work as an associate engineer developing and managing pieces of a New Product Development project; gaining experience with initial requirements development to validation of breadboard prototypes, Project Management and schedule management, and exposure to detailed design tools: DFMEA, DFM/DFA, Root Cause Analysis and issue resolution.
  • 3rd term: Gain a higher level of learning of the Product Development process and how to deliver a project from concept to mass production.
