The Peter O’Donnell Jr. School of Public Health at UT Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) in Dallas, Texas invites applications for faculty members at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor who have a commitment to outstanding research scholarship and graduate education and mentoring. The faculty member would be part of the Program on Implementation and Improvement Science within the newly established Peter O’Donnell Jr. School of Public Health and work collaboratively with the UTSW health system and/or one or more affiliated health systems – Parkland Health & Hospital System, Children’s Health, Texas Health Resources, the VA North Texas Health Care System, and Texas Scottish Rite for Children.
Qualified candidates should have a doctoral degree in Public Health, Medicine, or related discipline with a research focus on implementation science. Candidates with a record of extramural grant support, excellence in teaching, and innovative research are highly preferred. This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
The Peter O’Donnell Jr. School of Public Health will provide unique academic and research opportunities within a culturally rich environment that has Dallas ranked No. 4 in diversity among U.S. cities. UTSW’s outstanding Peter O’Donnell Jr. School of Public Health (OSPH) has a substantial research portfolio and emerging leadership in population health, which will serve as the foundation for building the new school. In addition to the Program on Implementation and Improvement Science, the OSPH has the Program Data Science for Precision Health and UTSW and Children’s Health Pediatric Population Health Sciences Program. Faculty members are supported by both quantitative and qualitative methods cores and a full range of pre- and post-grant support services.
The UTSW Medical District spans 230 acres in Dallas. Through its own and affiliated health systems – Parkland Health & Hospital System, Children’s Health, Texas Health Resources, the VA North Texas Health Care System, and Texas Scottish Rite for Children – UTSW physicians are central to the care of millions of residents in North Texas.
Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
