Overview

This role requires the incumbent live in the KC metro, or surrounding, area. You will work with minimal direction from, and in conjunction with, the incumbent's supervisor and assigned department team to provide technical direction, project management, and application programming required to support the business, clinical and investigational needs of the department. The incumbent will demonstrate compliance with industry, organizational, department, and information systems programming standards, as well as compliance with governmental regulations surrounding research and patient privacy (HIPAA). Specific experience with Cloud-based environment, such as Azure or AWS. Experience with MS SQL, C#, .NET, Javascript, N-Tier systems, Web services and APIs. Mobile aplication development enhancing our CHAMP application using Xamarin/Maui.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of agile solutions that appropriately meet the needs of the business. Work with junior developers to ensure full and proper testing has been completed on solution as well as assisting them in developing code. Ensure junior staff is documenting processes accurately.
  • Conduct system analysis and development, with limited support from professional staff, to keep our systems current with changing technologies. Analyze, design, coordinate, and supervise the development of software solutions to meet the need of internal or external clients.
  • The incumbent is responsible for providing technical programming assistance, internal technical staff development opportunities, and peer review for other members of the incumbent?s assigned department and information services department.
  • Report progress, issues, and project details to department supervisor.
  • Maintain technical competency

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in computer science, or related field, and 3-5 years' experience. 

Professional experience in programming and a working knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies, as well as application of industry standards are essential for this candidate’s ability to work in an environment where there is modest technical peer support. This person will be expected to perform their role in a collaborative environment, but with minimal technically specific direction. This person will require sufficient experience in application development/programming to assist in development of effective and cost efficient technical solutions to business and clinical problems. Experience with MS SQL, C#, .NET, Javascript, N-Tier systems, Web services and APIs.

Ability and Experience:

  • Specific experience with Cloud-based environment, such as Azure or AWS.
  • Develop and design applications across web, mobile, voice and emerging mediums
  • Follow department-standard technologies including C#, Entity Framework, JavaScript, CSS.
  • Familiarity with MVC, .NET Core, Razor pages
  • Experience with Xamarin/Maui preferred
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for department-developed applications, communicating progress and resolution to affected users in a timely manner.
  • Manage multiple concurrent development tasks and ad hoc support requests, adapting workload priority accordingly and communicating any impacts to delivery dates.
  • Facilitate periodic code and feature reviews with other developers ensuring standards compliance. 

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $41.18/hr, but your salaried offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is entirely remote or work-from-home. The person hired must live in the Kansas City metro area and may attend on-site meetings, as scheduled.
