Technical Support Intern

Job summary: 

The Technical Support Intern will support the Xylem Romania team in technical writing, review of technical specifications, and preparation of technical proposals. The intern will also help prepare technical presentations and support the translation of technical materials from English to Romanian. This position will allow an intern to learn about Xylem’s broad range of solutions ranging from pumping, treatment, measurement and digital solutions across the entire water cycle. The candidate should be self-motivated and a quick learner who is also passionate about Xylem’s mission to Solve Water.

Tasks:

• Monitor public tenders and provide translated summaries to the sales and technical support team
• Support the preparation of presentations and other technical materials for workshops, exhibitions /conferences, or other customer events
• Assist in the development of presentations, brochures, advertisements, white papers, questionnaires and other documents required to market Xylem’s portfolio of solutions
• Review customer requirements and support in the preparation of technical proposals
• Support preparation of specifications and bids for projects
• Analyze market and technical data to contribute to Xylem’s strategy and business cases
• Develop Sharepoint site for technical information specific to the Romania market
• Create technical materials to educate consultants and designers about Xylem’s advanced technologies and solutions
• Assist in office administrative tasks as required
• Maintain product knowledge through trainings and seminars
• Support in creating and participating in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities

Qualifications:

• Proficient in oral and written Romanian and English
• Attending or a recent graduate of an accredited University in engineering or science
• Experience working in previous companies is an asset but not required
• Strong willingness to learn
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to work with diverse workforce and customer base
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
