Job Description:

Broadcom is looking for a software/firmware engineer who will work on the development, testing and support for high speed serial communication and data conversion IPs.

Qualifications include:

• BSEE and 12+ years experience, or MSEE and 10+ years experience, PhD and 7+ years years of relevant industry experience
• Experience in all phases of software/firmware development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution
• Demonstrated ability to architect and design solid/consistent software libraries and interfaces
• Knowledge of high speed ADC/DAC, SerDes and 5G/LTE is also highly desirable
• Working knowledge of DSP principles and practices is highly desirable
• Strong C and Matlab programming skills. Knowledge of Java, Ruby, Python and test equipment control is a plus
• Experience using Revision Control and Bug Tracking Tools
• Understanding of Electrical Hardware including ability to read schematics, evaluate hardware-software tradeoffs, and write minimal code to resurrect early hardware
• Ability to debug software/firmware on hardware platforms including oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer and other lab equipment. Demonstrated excellent resourcefulness and debugging skills
• Ability to debug software/firmware in RTL Verilog simulation
• Familiar with Serial Communication interfaces (SPI, TWI, UART, USB)
• Excellent documentation practices. Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Customer savviness and ability to perform field debugging under pressure is required. 
• Commitment to maintaining project schedules and delivering tasks on time
• Focus on quality and attention to detail. Fast learning and Highly motivated, Team player, Ability to lead tasks and mentor other employees

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $111,000 - $210,000.

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
